Proposal for a new museum building for Telemark Museum in Skien. Competition entry 2016.
The new Museum building will contain a visitor centre, exhibition spaces and administration facilities. The curved shape of the building protects an old oak and opens up to the open air museum. The underground exhibition spaces encloses the oak. The transparency of the ground floor offers views from the street into the park. The facades of the administration facilities on the second floor consists of vertical wooden panels, as an interpretation of the traditional wooden architecture in the museum buildings.
The jury awarded the proposal a third place. close >>
