The house situated on Hjellestad in Bergen is part of the pilot research project SEOPP - which is systematic energy upgrading of small houses. Ratio has collaborated with SINTEF and Mesterhus in addition to several industrial partners and suppliers.
The house is a typical standard villa from 1975. It has been upgraded to Enova's * level 2, equivalent to low energy levels and better than today's requirements. There was a desire for total rehabilitation, increased living space on the main floor and better use of the lower floor to house a family with 3 young children.
In addition to a strong focus on energy solutions, we achieved spacial qualities with open plan solutions both vertically and horisontally, better accessibilty, better use of all spaces and more daylight.
